About The Nappy Lady™

Every week I talk to parents who are completley overwhelmed with Cloth Nappy Information Overload. This set me a goal to make information more available to parents with quality unbiased un branded information to help them on their nappy journey.

My Nappy journey began over four and a half years ago when our son Daniel was born. We tried to use flat nappies and that was just a joke. So we switched to disposables pretty quickly.

When Daniel was around 2 months old, a friend of mine introduced me to modern cloth nappies. These were so unike the old flat nappies infact they looked just like disposables but instead of throwing them away you simply popped them in the washing machine. I was instantly hooked as they were sooo cute and quickly I found that I was not getting the leaks that I got with disposables (Looking back I now find it amusing how we just accepted that disposable nappies leaked.)

Although I fell in love with the modern cloth nappies, we continued to use disposable nappies on a part time basis as this is what suited me as a busy mum. I personally believe that disposable nappies are a convenience item (not unlike disposable coffee cups) they are great to use when you are out and about but I found it was not necessary to use them all the time, especially when it is so easy to pop on a load of washing when you are at home.

I love being able to help parents by giving them information enabling them to make informed decisions so I became 'The Nappy Lady'

I travel the country promoting cloth nappies and talk with councils and parents. Over the past few years I have run nappy workshops for numerous orginazations around New Zealand, been a guest speaker at parent and child shows and have had many live interviews on NZ Television programmes such as Good Morning, Breakfast and central TV.
